Shonna Cooper
Shonna Cooper, founder and CEO of Work-Life Initiative LLC, has a three-sided view of the work/life balance equation. As an entrepreneur and employer, she evaluated and hired high achievers with specific skill-sets—and compatible personality characteristics—to help her business achieve objective, identifiable goals. In her career as a recruiter, she sought to match top talent in the corporate world with companies where they could have the greatest impact and the best opportunity for success. And, after the birth of her daughter, she viewed business as it is seen by millions of mothers across the country—as a place with an acute need for workable solutions that accommodate the demands of family life.
This multi-layered resumé is the foundation of Work-Life Initiative LLC.
Formerly a professional in the executive/technology recruiting field, Shonna was aware of a work/balance movement emerging in select companies across the country. She knew the traditional options mothers face—leaving the career-path, putting the child in day care, taking part-time work—but believed that women should have a solution that did not involve an uncomfortable level of compromise. Shonna’s strong desire to bring together qualified, professional women with diversity-driven, progressive employers led her to develop Work-Life Initiative LLC. The company officially launched in January 2008.
The company’s credo—Solutions Without Sacrifice—is a natural extension of her real-life experience. Shonna’s career-path has been an exercise in striving for success while embracing creativity and collaboration. It began at a young age when she was accepted by The School of American Ballet in New York City. Here, in George Balanchine’s legendary academy, she began building the traits that would later serve her in business: strength, commitment, discipline, competitive drive and flexibility. Having launched a career on the stage, she returned home to Texas to put her skills to work in the corporate world. With a background that includes accounting, business development, high-level/national recruiting and serving as the managing partner of a high-end wholesale distribution company, Shonna’s perspective and entrepreneurial spirit are well-suited to today’s innovative business-environment.
Shonna is a graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word with a degree in Business/Human Resources. She embodies the work-life experience, running a business, caring for her daughter and supporting the arts. Shonna is a member of the Austin Chamber of Commerce and recently co-founded the SpareWorks Dance Company.

Noelia Reynolds
Growing up in her hometown of Ponce, Puerto Rico with her parents and two sisters, Noelia Reynolds had big dreams of becoming a teacher. After graduating from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico, she began her career teaching Spanish as a second language to Pope Missionaries and the Peace Corps. Her passion for teaching was so apparent that she was chosen as a model teacher where students from the University were sent to observe her class and then discuss it at the University.
When she wasn't teaching, she enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world. On a trip through several European countries, Noelia happened to meet Larry Reynolds. From Fort Worth, Texas, Larry was in the Army at the time and on vacation traveling on the same ten day bus tour as Noelia.
Shortly thereafter, they were married and moved from Puerto Rico to Austin, Texas where they had two beautiful daughters Shirley and Sharon. Noelia's teaching career continued to flourish as one of the first teachers to implement the bilingual education program in Austin, Texas. When she's not teaching, Noelia pursues other passions such as designing statement jewelry pieces through Noelia Jewelry, the jewelry business she created three years ago. She is also very interested in gardening, politics, and interior design. As a breast cancer survivor who has been cancer-free for 12 years, Noelia appreciates each one of life's blessings. She saw her battle with cancer as a challenge and now uses her success to encourage others to fight the same battle and to live their best life. Her struggles, her successes, her family and her young spirit together are what give Noelia Reynolds a balanced life. Noelia Reynolds Introduction Noelia Reynolds Introduction
Sandy Pollock & Crystal Oaks (Casserole Queens) Sandy Pollock Sandy, a graduate of the prestigious French Culinary Institute in New York City, derived the idea for the Casserole Queens during a holiday visit with her family. After making the Pollocks' signature dishes with her mom and siblings, she realized that everyone in the family (all the way down to the tiniest Pollock) was indubitably satisfied. Sandy has happy memories of her family gathering at the dinner table to eat a casserole, and she hopes that Casserole Queens will help build memories for other families, too. Drawing from a diverse culinary background, including stints at Austin restaurants Jeffrey's and Cipollina, Sandy has a knack for enhancing the taste of an old favorite—as well as serving up some uniquely different dishes of her own.
Crystal Oaks Crystal, a former citizen of Corporate America, brings over 11 years of marketing experience to the Casserole Queens team and an entrepreneurial drive to help execute on their vision. In addition to her strong marketing background, Crystal comes from generations of fine cooking. Raised a true Southern Belle, this Casserole Queen knows her way around the kitchen and into every food lover's heart. It is her goal to help deliver a little nostalgia with every casserole we sell. Terri McCormick First let me say that I love radio and have been in the business for over half of my life now…yes, I started at a very young age!
I was born in Jacksonville, Florida, a Navy brat, but grew up in the metro Detroit area and have spent most of my radio career there. After my daughter Katie graduated high school, I decided to move to a warmer climate, someplace that had a hometown feel but also the excitement of the big city that I love!! This is what led me to Austin and Majic 95.5! I miss my friends and family of course, but I love the warmth and friendliness of my listeners and the people of Austin! I love shopping, exercise, and yes I will admit it…reality TV!! I also love great food and all of the restaurants that Austin has to offer. Jennifer Salzmann Jennifer Salzmann is a dynamic entrepreneur, business woman, wife, and mother who found balance throughout her journey as a successful sales and marketing professional in the pharmaceutical industry, an owner of a mortgage business and she currently owns and manages a large real estate portfolio. After these successful endeavors, Jennifer knew that she wanted to make a difference in women’s lives. In the summer of 2006, Jennifer chose to pursue her passion to open an affordable luxury day spa and her dream was launched in the Facelogic Spa concept. Facelogic Spa specializes in custom facials and provides a place of luxury and pampering at an affordable price. Her goal was to reach women of all demographics.
“When you feel a tug on your heart and that feeling sparks a fire within you know that it is the path to follow.” That is how Jennifer Salzmann felt when the idea of affordable pampering for women came across her mind.
Jennifer shares, “In today’s society there is so much emphasis placed on a woman’s appearance and their image that I wanted to bring to life a spa where skin care and beauty were offered at an affordable price. My main focus and passion is to make sure that every customer walks out of the door looking great on the outside, glowing on the inside and without spending a fortune. Our $39 custom facial with therapeutic upper body massage accomplishes that. I believe the Facelogic concept will help women of all ages achieve pampering and luxury anytime they want without the heavy price tag. My goal is to make sure that all customers have radiant skin and in turn leave the spa with a boost in self esteem.”
The first Facelogic Spa opened in Northwest Austin, at Hwy 183 and RR 620 on December 9, 2006. The passion behind the concept is so strong that her second Facelogic will be opening in early fall and the third spa is slotted for an opening in Spring 2008.
While enjoying the journey and all the amazing women that she meets along the way, she finds her favorite times in the evening sharing laughs with her 2 year old son and walks with her husband. She maintains a passion for pampering women and bringing out the best in them! http://www.facelogicaustin.com/
